Fairy Door

5 Aug

Today was a project day.  And today’s project you ask?  A fairy door!  A little door just for fairies to get in and out of our house.  So cute! After getting Rory to take just one more bite of her lunch, we head off to Hobby Lobby with little sister in tow.  They have a section in Hobbidy Lobbidy of unfinished wood working projects.  The lazy mom’s project isle.  Perfect for today’s project!  They have two styles of Fairy Doors.  We chose the one that matched the architectural style of our home.

I’m new to this blogging projects thing, so of course I forget the true before picture.  But I did remeber before I got too far along.

To keep Rory’s mitts off of the fairy door, I had to convince her that the fairies needed her to paint a bird house for them.  She put up a little fight because she wanted to paint the door.
I enjoy those moments where I am able to persuade a very determined little girl.

She took her job very seriously.  She has changed so much from our last painting project.  She now shows purpose in her strokes.  She thinks about what colors to paint with and even goes to the sink to clean herself up after word.

Here’s the finished Fairy Door.

Here’s Rory’s finished Fairy Bird House.  I love it!

Here’s hoping some fairies come to visit us soon!
